Mr. Raman leads Interharbour Capital’s investment efforts, bringing substantial expertise in corporate finance, working capital strategy, and technical accounting, strengthened by first-hand, principal experience in domestic and cross-border transactions throughout the commodities chain, from mining and trading to manufacturing.

Before founding Interharbour Capital, Shankar held Chief Financial Officer positions at a large international physical commodities trader of non-ferrous base and precious metals, manufacturing entities, mines, recycling technology research entities, and metals processors/recyclers.

Mr. Raman has overseen structured trade finance, investment, treasury, hedging, and accounting activities, leading over 100 individuals in 10 countries. He has designed and led financial and organizational restructurings, sourcing and providing credit solutions for over $500MM in annual trading volume and has participated in numerous transactions in the renewable technology and natural resources spaces.

Mr. Raman previously served with Crowe Horwath’s Transaction Advisory practice, advising on middle-market transactions, largely in the manufacturing and distribution spaces.

Mr. Raman holds a dual B.S. in Accounting and Supply Chain Management from Syracuse University. He also holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. 

Shankar lives on Long Island with his wife and son and enjoys traveling and running.
